About YuriyI am a native Russian speaker, having a master degree in pedagogy and in psychology. I do enjoy explaining and am really good at making complicated things simple. I do not retell grammar rules. I have been teaching foreigners online since year 2003, so i do know the methods that do work :). What i do: - I do teach proper pronunciation (which is very important in Russian language) using special exercises and methods; - I do explain the language concepts, making people understand why things in Russian are going the way they are going. - I do work with a real Russian literature for Russians, to train your understanding and to build a critical mass of Russian vocabulary. This way we tie words to emotions and put everything into context. This way children do learn. Please note: I do not work as a textbook replacement, i.e. i do not retell the rules/explanations that anybody can pickup from a book. I believe it's a waste of my time and of your money :). I can teach in Russian/English, depending on your preference. My English is not 'native' but it's fluent, so i don't have problems speaking it or understanding it, including various accents (American, British, Japanese, Chinese, Pakistani, etc). Sometimes i do teach English and my students tell me they do enjoy my lessons. However, i am not a native English speaker, therefore, it should be treated with caution :). My two reasons to teach are: i do like explaining and i do like sharing Russian culture. So, if you want to improve your Russian, welcome :).
p.s. Currently i have 2 "disputed sessions" here and i would like to explain why. In both cases students couldn't come at the time scheduled and we asked the support to reschedule our session or to cancel it. We had absolutely no problems whatsoever, just wanted a different time. In both cases local support simply had canceled our sessions and added me a "disputed session". Such a great support! :).
