Frauke started giving private English tuition to younger pupils in 1994 and continued doing so until she left Germany for the UK in 1999. Frauke then lived in York, England, where she worked as a Viking and archaeologist for the York Archaeological Trust teaching children and adults of all ages about the social, cultural and historical development of the City of York and giving private German tuition to adults as well as children. When Frauke moved to Northern Ireland in 2000, she was asked to teach German to students as a means of supporting them throughout their process of acquiring their university qualifications. This involved teaching online as well as giving one-to-one tuition. Since 2007, Frauke has predominantly taught English and German online through an educational website.
