Hi. My name is Marike. By profession I’m a language teacher and for 7 years, I’ve taught German as a foreign language. I’m trained and certified by the Goethe-Institute and teach according to their method – the communicative approach. I’ve lived in a foreign country myself, for 10 years, and sat in the same boat you’re in right now. During my time in America, I developed many strategies to learn a language and live in a foreign country. I want to pass them on to you. Each day I accompany the integration process of my American husband in Germany. I experience first-hand the challenges of the German language and the German culture. This helps me see the language from your point of view.

Marike is an outstanding language tutor, super patient, and comfortable to talk with. She is a very knowledgeable, intelligent, and dedicated person. Marike always has a structured plan for our classes that is tailored individually according to my needs. I find her teaching materials (including but not limited to the course books, articles in magazines, and documentaries) very practical and authentic. Thanks to Marike’s support and guidance I passed my telc B2 test with an overall score of 274 of 300 (Speaking 73/75, Writing 45/45). I can highly recommend Marike to anyone who would like to improve their German skills with a professional tutor and in a nice atmosphere. I am very happy with my choice for almost a year now!
