At this stage in my career, I am starting to teach more online than in the classroom. I prefer this because it is more flexible, and it allows the lessons to be more student focused. The course can be adapted exactly to the student's needs.

The main aim of my courses is to increase the student's confidence by improving their ability in the language. I believe that the key to this is to increase the student's ability by studying and practising language structures, and how they are used in real life. I use the communicative method to teach grammar, and I like to do lots of written and oral exercises in order to provide as much actual practice as possible.

I have built up lots of resources over the years and they are very well suited to online teaching. I use the most common reference books, and for a course book, I use, and would always recommend, the Longman/BBC SpeakOut series of books.
