I had a troubled beginning to education, I had a short attention span and I sometimes found it difficult to understand lessons in school, this unpleasant time of my life actually was very good for me, because now I will never lose patience with a student, I understand how frustrating it is to want to know something, and how rewarding it is when you succeed.
I have been a sculptor, a speed typist; an administrator; an IT Technical Help advisor; a customer service agent; a receptionist and even a driver, worked for Google; Newcastle Law Courts, the NHS, Apple Computers.
I always wanted to teach people English but I didn't know how, I found italki by a friend's recommendation, and within 6 months became a successful tutor.
My strengths are in teaching people how to pronounce the words, explaining things in simple terms, and I have a natural ability to tell what students' strengths are.
Naturally I have a northern accent, but I can also speak as though I were on the BBC :)
