About Amber R.

English and American Sign Language are two of my passions and loves. To take a person to the next level in their language learning and understanding is one of the highest joys in life. I graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education focused in English. I am beginning my third year as a jr. high and high school teacher this fall. I am an ASL interpreter and have taught a multitude of people basic and some advanced ASL. One of my students is now becoming an interpreter - wow! My classes are designed for the individual student. No two classes are the same. I believe that, because each person is at a different language level, he needs to be taught in a way that will help him specifically. In my English classes I use a combination of common tools such as reading, writing, conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar to make each class more enjoyable. Some students prefer to improve merely by conversation. In such cases, we talk! My ASL classes are a combination of signing, deaf culture, vocabulary, reception, and sometimes songs or stories in ASL. The content of the ASL class will depend on the level of the signer. If you have never signed before, I can teach you all of the basics. If you just need practice signing, we can have a "no voice" class. If your English level is A1, I can help you. If your just need help "losing the accent" I can help you. Are you my next student?
