I have been teaching English online since February 2012. I specialize in speaking and listening practice for IELTS.

I have a BA Hons in Economics and an MSc in Computing Science. I also have a university certificate in Health and Social Care.

I am a native speaker with an English accent. My spoken voice is very clear and I do not have a regional accent.
As well as being an English tutor, I also work in Health and Social Care as an advocate for people with mental health problems. In my job I communicate with doctors, nurses, and outside agencies, with a view to making sure that the patients' wishes are listened to.

I also write as a hobby and have had articles and poems published in professional journals.

If you want to prepare for the IELTS speaking test we will be using exam questions from recent students in China. I also teach conversation lessons based on current affairs.

Some of my students are following the English Out There course and I support them to make the most of social media to practice their lessons with native English speakers as homework. If you want to practice English with native speakers in between lessons then English Out There is the course for you.

I am a highly patient teacher with a gentle and kind teaching style.

Finally, I understand the needs of language learners because I am myself a student of Mandarin Chinese.
