Here on italki I am looking for Korean language teachers and Korean language exchange partners who can help me improve my Korean language skills. For those who are interested, I can also help you learn English via language exchange or private language.
My name is Kevin, and I am a university-educated American with a Masters degree in teaching. I was raised in a monolingual English-speaking household, and was only first exposed to another language when I began learning Italian in middle school. More than a decade later, I am fluent in Italian, and my studies of that language have taken me places I could only have dreamed of as a child. Not only that, but through learning another language, I developed lifelong friendships that would have never been possible if I had remained a monolingual English speaker.
I've studied many languages besides Italian as well, including Spanish, French, German, Esperanto, Brazilian Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese. Recently, however, my focus has shifted as I have been introduced to the beauty and intricacies of the Korean language and its culture.
Now that I have found italki, I intend to use it as a resource to meet Korean speakers and learn about the Korean language and culture from those who live it every day. I would also like to help out Korean speakers who wish to learn English, as well.
