By joining italki, I am not only hoping to learn more about another language but I also hope to learn more about different culture's other than my own. I grew up in a small farming community that isn't too exciting when it comes to being culturally unique. I believe that one of the best ways to learn about another culture is through language.
As for now with joining italki I am primarily hoping to find language exchange partners, because I want to become more conversational and I want to be able to understand and respond quicker when speaking.
Also, I love to help other people learn english, when I was studying spanish in Costa Rica one of my favorite things to do was help the locals improve their english.
The reason that I want to learn spanish is that someday I hope to live and work in Latin America and therefore I need to learn spanish, and hopefully portuguese as well.
