I am looking for a language exchange partner who is a native speaker in either Japanese or French. I was born in Beijing, China and immigrated to Vancouver, BC, Canada at the age of 16. I still go back to Beijing every other year because of the strong ties with part of my family and a big crowd of friends and classmates there. I have lived in Vancouver for almost 5 years. Having completed two full years in the University of British Columbia, I am currently working as an intern (co-op) in a company located in Downtown Vancouver. I plan to go back to school this September and carry on with my major -- Cognitive Science, which is the study of mind and intelligent systems (take courses in CPSC, PSYC, PHIL, LING, and MATH). Hopefully I can secure a position in MIT's cognitive science PHD program after I graduate. I would love to work for IBM Watson research centre some day. I have been playing tennis for more than 8 years and I love Vancouver's summer when I can play outdoor tennis and enjoy the cozy sun all day long. Other sports I'm good at include basketball, badminton, swimming, and skiing.
