“Where there is a will, there is a way.” I believe this is true. In other words, if I have a dream, there is a way to make my dream come true. In order to make my dream come true, I went to America, I had stayed in America for 4 and half years from August, 2007 to January, 2012. I had studied in the U.S. as a graduate student majoring theology. I came back to Korea on 15th Sunday.
I have liked studying English since I was young. It is interesting to explain something in a different language. I went to America for studying theology in English. I experienced diversity and variety in one of well developed countries. I had many chances to talk with Americans. I realized that they are not different from us in regards to human beings. I took charge of English ministry which is Korean-American. When I talked to kids, especially, I felt their pure minds through their voices, it was really memorable time. When I dealt with young adults, I could realize how different Korean-American people are. I figured out the difficulty of identity as second generation or 1.5 generation.
I like teaching somebody. If I help some people to know something well in a simple way and they understand well, it is pleasant for me. I had to teach the meaning of the Bible for the people of the church as a leader of a congregation. I was a part time pastor in the church who had served the congregation from children to young adult group. I had many chances that I had dealt with people in English. for I took charge of English service. So, I gave a sermon in English every Sunday for a certain time. A ministry is similar with teaching.
