I am a friendly, polite and proper native English speaker. I am from the south eastern United States and, admittedly have a slight Southern accent; however, it is a light accent and quite charming. I am articulate and use proper grammar.
I have extended my home to several ESL (English as a Second Language) students from all around the world. These students are college-aged & come to the U.S. with little-to-no English speaking skills. My most important role as "host mother" was to assist in their development of conversational skills.
They all excelled quickly & now are very fluent in English including American slang and pop-culture references. I am proud to have had a role in their successes.
