I am now semi-retired from teaching peace (sociology), first at the Univ. of Maryland and then at the Univ. of New Mexico, Taos. In 1957-8 I attended a short program at the Univ. of Madrid, I completed my MS degree in Applied Behavioral Science at Johns Hopkins. I now volunteer in Central America once a year and am aiming at gaining conversational fluency. Much of my 'old' Spanish comes back, however, conversation is a stumbling block for me. I have three grown daughters, two step-children and six young grandchildren. My husband is also attempting for the first time to learn Spanish to help in our volunteer work.
