Why you should choose me as your teacher: Teaching experience: I've taught English and rhetoric in Taiwan, learning skills to secondary school students in the UK, and basic science and beginning Chinese to adults through the Open University. I'm currently studying for a CELTA certificate. Learning experience: I've studied French and Chinese, and lived and worked overseas, so I know what it feels like to be learning a foreign language. Language skills: I have a degree in Comparative Literature from Princeton. I've written a book and many magazine articles, edited magazines and newsletters, and copy-edited and proofread for Oxford University Press. As an American living in the UK, I have a thorough understanding of the differences between American and British English, including spelling, usage and grammar. I've even 'translated' EFL learning materials from British to American. Personality: I'm relaxed, patient, curious and attentive. I let you do most of the talking. If you really want to work hard, I can push you. Editing: send me something you've written, and I can edit it while we talk about it.
