Hi there :)
My name is Frauke and I have been teaching English and German to students from all over the world for many years and will hopefully do so for many more to come. I enjoy teaching and learning languages. I am currently learning Russian, a language I love for its culture and history, and French, a language I have never really mastered but love all the more for its poetry.
I am originally from the northern parts of East Germany, my family home is at the Baltic Sea, but I have been living in Northern Ireland for the past 12 years. I have recently moved to Oxfordshire, where I am now residing with my spouse and child. I am both, British and German.
In my spare time, I enjoy learning languages, independent cinema, meditating and baking - mainly German cakes I have to admit ;)
I am *only* looking for serious language partners to exchange French/Russian lessons for German/English lessons. --- I don't have much free time, but if you wish to take formal lessons with me, check out my teacher profile here on italki :)

Frauke started giving private English tuition to younger pupils in 1994 and continued doing so until she left Germany for the UK in 1999. Frauke then lived in York, England, where she worked as a Viking and archaeologist for the York Archaeological Trust teaching children and adults of all ages about the social, cultural and historical development of the City of York and giving private German tuition to adults as well as children. When Frauke moved to Northern Ireland in 2000, she was asked to teach German to students as a means of supporting them throughout their process of acquiring their university qualifications. This involved teaching online as well as giving one-to-one tuition. Since 2007, Frauke has predominantly taught English and German online through an educational website. All lessons and materials are designed by Frauke in consultation with students. It is important to her that language instructions meet the needs and wants of her students. Only then, students are able to achieve what they strive for. Frauke provides all materials to the students by email, so they can concentrate on the learning aspect during the lesson and keep strengthening their newly acquired knowledge and skills once the session has finished.
