My name is Joe. I am fro Chicago Il, USA. I work in the television and film industry.
I am learning Italian.
I am looking for a teacher who can help me understand the Italian language more then just knowing the words. I'd say I'm looking for more basic-intermediate conversation skills. Nothing too in depth, I don't need to be having talks about politics with Italians! I'd mostly like to be able to talk and understand people on the streets, restaurants etc. I'd like to be able to have a conversation with a local.
The biggest thing that I am looking to learn is to be able to Speak and Hear Italian. I have been doing basic lessons with various programs and I can read basic Italian, but have a very hard time hearing it from true Italians and an even harder time speaking it.
Lastly, I would like to know "how an italian would say it". For example, I know there are a lot of different way to order your dinner, but how do most italians do it?
