I studied Chinese in Hong Kong. Traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese was not born yet. The teachers taught us to read and write. However, we didn't have to learn grammar. In US, I by-passed high school and went straight to college. At that time, most of the students were veterans under GI bills; they were retrained for their jobs. In college, we learned mostly to read. The exams were true/false-type questions. If you don't believe me, ask your grandparents.
My reading and listening ability is 100% native. But I haven't spoken Mandarin for more than 20 years, so it is a bit rusty. Thus, I would like some help in this area.
I like home theater, martial art ( 武術) and exercising to maintance my six pack abs.
