I have global experience teaching both children and adults. I taught ESL in Germany, Mexico, China, and Poland. I soon grew weary and wary of typical ESL textbooks and found myself wishing to share more with my students. I had always loved classical English literature and I still cherished my favorite authors and characters, so one day I decided to bring them to work with me! I first introduced George Eliot´s Maggie, of The Mill on the Floss, to a reading group at the American High School, in Shanghai. It was my first ESL Drama class and this wayward child, who ran precariously along the icy river´s edge and refused to have her hair brushed, stole everyone´s heart.
