I'm here looking to connect with others who are teaching themselves Mandarin and those who are already fluent so I can get some help with the many mistakes I will make along the way.
I have been researching and experimenting with Open Learning and blogging weekly about it at http://iamcorbin.net and I came across some articles talking about the benefit of learning of second language. That really got me thinking about how my experiences of the world are limited to the single language I know and the benefits of being able to add to that experience with the new perspectives that another language and culture could offer.
