She dressed herself up in an elegant pink evening gown, got a delicate hairdo. And instead of wearing fine pieces of jewelry, she tied several lovely gardenias with a silk ribbon around her neck, which successfully highlighted her attraction. Everything looked perfect, except Norma’s absence of mind. As with every engaged girl, Norma should have felt happy and excited. But actually, she didn’t. She looked at her fiancé, Arthur, who was dressed in a delicate grey suit tonight. He was chatting with some of his colleagues with great joy. “This man is exactly who I love. I am doing the right thing.” Norma whispered to herself, taking a firm tone. However, she still couldn’t help keeping her eyes on the man in the scarlet suit. Last week, when Norma and Arthur informed Arthur’s sister Jane of their engagement, they were told that she was also in love and Norma invited Jane to bring her new boyfriend to her engagement party. But tonight, the moment Norma saw Jane coming with her boyfriend, she stiffened. It was Nick, her first boyfriend. For a split second, Norma was swallowed by the memory of their sweet past. However, neither of them spoke anything. Norma made a smile as if nothing happened between them, but she knew that deep down, she still loved Nick. However, it was too late. Watching Nick and Jane talking and laughing, Norma felt that something was piercing her heart.
