Hola, my name is Adrià and I'm from Catalonia. I'm a biomedical researcher, but over a year ago I started the adventure of travelling the world, and everyday I see the importance of languages in connecting with people. I love discovering new places, cultures, and people with whom to talk about life and its different realities. My mother tongues are Catalan and Spanish (clear, rather neutral accent), I'm fluent in English, and I have an intermediate level of French. When someone told me about italki, I thought it was a platform where I could contribute with my skills and interests. Apart from travelling, some of my favourite hobbies are photography, nature, and water sports.

I am a social person, detail-oriented, and very patient. I have experience leading activities with others (e.g. taking groups of teenagers on hikes, or training new students in the laboratory), and I really enjoy witnessing how people learn and improve their abilities. Like you, I have been through the experience of learning a new language with the goal of becoming fluent. I lived in Australia for a few months, and in the UK for several years, and I had to master communication in English. It can be tough and frustrating sometimes, but when you feel the progress it's so rewarding... as with many things, all it takes is exposure and practice - and I'm here I am to help you with that!

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

Through conversation, we can focus on whatever you want to improve: grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, gaining background knowledge on specific areas... Together, we can find the learning system that suits you best: -We can talk about subjects of your interest or pick random topics to expand your range of conversations. -We can use Spanish or Catalan movies, books, music, or other materials if that is something that you're interested in. -I can point out improvement aspects as we speak or take notes to bring them up later (or I can just keep the conversation going if all you want is practice). We will discuss all of this and more beforehand, so that our sessions are smooth and productive.

I enjoy my conversation classes with Adrià! Our conversations are interesting and the atmosphere is relaxed. While I struggle to find the correct words, he patiently waits and helps me form my sentence. I will definitely book more classes!

I love my lessons with Adrià. He tailors the lessons to my level and goals and he knows how to make the classes challenging and interesting. He is easy-going and fun to talk to. I think my Spanish has already improved thanks to his guidance.

After 3 lessons I can say that Adrià is an excellent listener and very effective at giving feedback! I have been expressing more complex ideas than ever before in Spanish with his support and his challenge. We have come up with innovative ways to discuss in Spanish the topics that interest me and moreover to practice/ revise/ investigate the new language encountered.
