April Fools' Day or April Fool's Day (sometimes called All Fools' Day) is an annual celebration commemorated on April 1 by playing <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Practical_joke" title="Practical joke" style="color: rgb(11, 0, 128); background: none rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">practical jokes</a> and spreading <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoax" title="Hoax" style="color: rgb(11, 0, 128); background: none rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">hoaxes</a> in the UK. The jokes and their victims are called April fools. People playing April Fool jokes often expose their prank by shouting "April fool(s)" at the unfortunate victim(s). Some newspapers, magazines and other published media report fake stories, which are usually explained the next day or below the news section in smaller letters. Although popular since the 19th century, the day is not a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_holiday" title="Public holiday" style="color: rgb(11, 0, 128); background: none rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">public holiday</a> in every country. Little is known about the origins of this tradition.
What are some memorable pranks you have played on your friends?!
No reply to the question above. But did you know that italki is going to employ a moderator in order to give the discussions more structure and quality? The moderator is going to be a well-paid volunteer who has a lot of experience in teaching, writing, and entertaining. It will happen as of April 2nd. Unfortunately, they didn't mention the year in which this is going to happen. :-)
But that was a good one! You had me for a second.
