These reflections have led me to try to explore video-essay and I have developed a particular project that I have attached at the end of this letter. That project was an ethnography about Colombian traditional markets that tried to show how sounds, smells, colours and flavours are more important in those spaces than in western grocery stores. In order to make that project I took 4 months of fieldwork and some interviews. With that information I created a video-essay using my father’s telephone, because I didn't have money for basic equipment. Fortunately, that project has been well received, it has presented in 2 art exhibitions, 3 conferences and 1 workshop around 5 different countries.

This is very well written. Using try/tried is correct, but if you are talking about your accomplishments, it is better to leave it out, it sounds more confident that way. In more formal English writing, it is usual to write small numbers as words, for example five instead of 5. I think of Colombia as a western country, maybe say modern or mainstream grocery stores?
