If someone ask japanese that what is your religion, I think most people in japan may say that I'm an non-religious person. Of course, there is buddhists, christians in japan. But alomost all people think that they don't have religion by themselves. Actually, it is not the fact that they don't have religion,i think it is so close to our life, so we can't notice how close it is between religion and us. There are 80 thousand shrines in japan. We'll go there and pray in new year everyyear. And we have a word calld 'yaoyorozu no kamigami(八百万の神々)',it means a hundreds of gods. From long time ago, our ancestor have said that all of things have soul of gods like mountain, sea, foods. My grandmather said that there is god for even a grain of rice before. We have rich nature like mountain and sea, on the other hand we have faced a lot of disaster. So we feel fear and respect for nature, and think about there is god is in it.When we eat food, we'll say 'itadakimasu(いただきます)'.It means we're thankful of eating foods that god is. That is our life that spend with religion.

If someone asks a japanese about their religion, I think, most people in japan may say that they are non-religious. Of course, there are buddhists and christians in japan. But almost all people think that they don't have a religion as it is. Actually, it is not the fact that they don't have a religion, i think, it is so close to our life, that we can't notice how close it is. There are 80 thousand shrines in japan. We'll go there and pray on the first day of every new year. And we have a word 'yaoyorozu no kamigami(八百万の神々)' which means "a hundred of gods". Since long ago our ancestors have said that all things have a soul of gods like mountains, sea, food. My grandmather used to say that there was god for even a grain of rice. We have rich nature like mountains and sea, on the other hand, we have faced a lot of disasters. So we feel fear and respect for nature, and think that there is god is in it.When we eat food, we say 'itadakimasu(いただきます)'.It means we're thankful for eating foods that god has given us. That is our life spent in accordance with religion.
That's an interesting piece! Would you like to chat in English via Skype?
