I've a question. I just booked a trial Japanese lesson with a Japanese teacher. I'm confused with the time difference. My time zone is CST(Central Standard Time), but I see the lesson time like "Tue, Dec 6, 2022(UTC-06:00) UPCOMING 04:00 / 04:30" So, is that UTC time Japan time? What time will it be for CST time? Thanks in advance! By the way, I don't think the teacher is quite responsive though.

The time of the lesson should be in your standard time so use that. You don't have to worry about anything else

It's a good thing that I asked the question. It turned out the original lesson time would be our 4am. It's way too early to have a lesson. lol!

Here comes another question: My son just finished a 30-minute trial lesson with a Japanese teacher. Right after the lesson, I received a message like this one "How was your class with Mina? Click the button below to confirm the lesson and give your feedback (or report a problem). After 3 days, the lesson will be automatically confirmed and the Credits will be transferred to your teacher." If I click the "confirm" button, it doesn't mean I'm confirming more future lessons with the teacher, right? Thanks!

Go to your italki profile and edit it. Under 'Basic Information', make sure that where it says 'Living in', you put your current location where you actually live right now. For example, if you are living in Buffalo, New York, United States right now, make sure it says 'United States' in the box on the left and 'Buffalo' or 'New York' in the box on the right. This is extremely important because otherwise, every teacher's schedule will appear in the wrong way, you will schedule lessons for a time of day that you are asleep or simply not available, and you'll miss lessons. Once you fix your profile location, you won't have to worry about it. And remember that if you travel and want to take lessons while you are in a different time zone, you will have to change your 'Living in' location so that you book lessons at the right time.

I've just realized that I cannot message the teachers. So, there's no communications with the teachers through messaging, right? Thanks.
