Not at all, so called "modern poetry" doesnt even require any rhyme anymore or any meaningful content...

I believe poetry and satire are probably the most difficult things to write in a foreign language. Poetry uses a lot of symbolism, idioms and phrasal verbs. I don't believe English would be much harder than any other second language, but poetry is similar to slang since words many times do not carry their literal meaning, that makes it difficult to write without a near native level.

Give it a try though, practice improves everything!
