Hi all!
I've seen some amazing TED talks in English. Some of my favorites are "How Do YOU Define Yourself Lizzie Velasquez at TEDxAustinWomen " and "The Power of Defining Yourself | Amma Asante | TEDxBrixton". The speakers there are really intelligent and well-spoken. Moreover, the talks are always interesting because they focus on diverse topics.
I was wondering if someone could recommend some TED talks for me to watch/listen to in Spanish. I am also open to suggestions from similar platforms (It doesn't necessarily have to be TED). I think it would give me some good listening practice.
Thank you both for your suggestions. I never knew TED had subtitles. I usually watch the talks on YT but the automatic YT subtitles are really inaccurate. I just watched Theaster Gates' talk with subtitles in Spanish (from the official TED website) and it was pretty cool. I'll probably continue watching TED talks with subtitles from now on.
I also love some of TED videos, all of them has subtitles in many languages. I haven't watched all of them yet and I am sure there are still many interesting ones that I have to watch but, these ones got my attention until now:
http://www.ted.com/talks/dan_ariely_asks_are_we_in_control_of_our_own_decisions
(It was cool to know how people decide, specially the ad in The Economist case.)
http://www.ted.com/talks/theaster_gates_how_to_revive_a_neighborhood_with_imagination_beauty_and_art
(We had somehow a similar idea for our city and surronding)
http://www.ted.com/talks/amy_webb_how_i_hacked_online_dating
(I like how she thinks based on data, even for dating)
That's okay, Mark. I can see the similarities although I don't understand the language. I'm sure it'll be helpful for other language learners.
Sorry I can't help you with Spaning... But if anyone is learning Dutch, this has some similarities with TED: www.universiteitvannederland.nl/
