Because you don't enjoy it.  You may feel like it's something mandatory and people don't enjoy mandatory activities.  For example,  I don't enjoy doing the dishes but someone has to do it

Because not everyone enjoys memorizing thousands of words... You can find more fun sources or learn with other people to make it more interesting, but it's kind of like work if it's not your hobby.
