In the West, some places are very bad to live in if you are black: France, southern U.S., Chile, are some examples.
Brazil is a pretty good place to live, especially the state of Bahia. Also, in Central America and in the Caribbean you can find places that are OK.
What about in China?
Friends who lived in Beijing said it wasn't very comfortable, not because anybody was hostile, but just because everybody would stare at them.
I suppose there are other parts of China where this doesn't happen.

It is said that lots of black live in guangzhou, China. If you plan to integrate successfully into the guangzhou way of life, learning a little Cantonese is a perfect way although people there could understand Mandarin Chinese. people there prefer Cantonese to Mandarin.
Guangzhou then? Is it very expensive to live there?
