I agree with you! I'm thinking about the same thing and I'like to travel around the world even alone!

Not beacuse I don't like having a trip with my friends, but because I think that it could be the best way to grow up.

I'm a girl and so it could be more difficult and unsafe than for you. So if you can, why not? Let's go.

It gets overhyped a bit as great for everything and something everyone should do and whatnot. I love travelling, and I think it can be a great way to learn about the world (and yourself). But I think it doesn't work very well if you don't try to understand other cultures. I also don't think it should be recommended for everyone; there are many other ways to learn about the world.

But yeah, I personally love travelling, and it's taught me a thing or two. If you have the chance and you want to do it, then by all means go ahead (try to really experience other cultures). But if you don't really want to, don't feel like you're missing out on indispensable life experiences. There are many other ways to learn. Just thought I'd highlight that since usually no one else mentions any downside (exept cost).

@Martina: you'll have to take more care as a girl, but it's definitely possible in many places one way or another. The world isn't quite as bad a place as the news would have you believe.

I agree with you. I have a dream to traveling around the world. but I thing, it is just be a dream. so I am here, to meet with many friends from the whole world and could exchange something we have :)

I think it's good idea, if you think you can do, do it. Believe yourself. I love traveling also but I like travelling with my friends.  

Thank you Mark! I totally agree with you. I really really want to go abroad on my own. I know as you said it isn't indispensable for growing up, but this is my wish.
