Alicja
Exchange and books.

Hello everyone!

I would like to improve my English and Spanish(very low level). I'm looking for language exchange(I can offer helping with Polish).

I also wanted to ask you to reccomend me some books in English and Spanish.

Have a nice day. :)

George I was thinking about some novels, not books for learning English.

Kasia yes I know. There's a few people learning Polish so I still have a hope :)

Hi Alicja! I would totally recommend you any Young Adult books, there is a huge variety of generes for you to pick, and the vocabulary that's in those books is usually a projection of real life speaking situations.

I've always been into fiction, but here are some of the books that i've enjoyed the most reading(In Spanish and English):

Como Agua Para Chocolate by Laura Esquivel

Boleros en la Habana by Roberto Ampuero

The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins (I know these are really chiché but they're amazing)

The Gone Series by Michael Grant

The Giver Series by Lois Lowry (These books are perfect for people trying to learn english)

Will Grayson Will grayson by John Green

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

The Road by Cormac McCarthy

I hope you like some of these :)

Hey Alicja,

I'm learning Polish! On jest świetny i piękny język ale jest bardzo, bardzo złożony...

As for books, I don't know how well you read English but Ernest Hemingway, especially his short stories, are great for learners because they're very famous but he has a very direct style of writing. In the U.S.A. some very famous novels are To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, everyone reads them in school.

I don't speak Spanish but novels by Jorge Luis Borges and Gabriel Garcia Marquez are really popular here.

Good luck!

@George Alicja is still learning English and it's obvious that she's making mistakes (so do I), so you're comment was a little bit inappropriate, especially that your level of English seems quite overstated according to your Quick User Introduction.

Ala, it will be quite difficult for you to find language exchange, because there is not too much people learning Polish ;-) It's funny to write to another Polish in English, but I want others to understand me if they would like to join the discussion. ;-)
