Hi, Abdulla. I don't believe learning portuguese is that hard. I actually have native english speakers students that learn very fast. I think it depends on the method you use and the interesting. I would love to help you :)

Thank you for your comments. I hope to Skype with some of you. I am trying to learn Brazilian Portuguese. I will be in rio in feb so if I can get the basics I will be pretty happy. After that I will continue and go for fluency.

Aprender um novo idioma é sempre um desafio Abdulla. Mas com persistência e prática disciplinadas você com certeza vai conseguir. O português que você está aprendendo é o de Portugal ou o do Brasil? São bem diferentes! Te indico aprender exclusivamente o português do seu país de interesse, será bem mais fácil!

The main difficulties english speakers I met had when speaking Portuguese were the use of genders and conjugation of verbs.

To start learning I recommend using podcasts, if you search in the Internet I'm sure you'll find some.

Yes. I believe it is pretty hard to learn Portuguese if you are a native English speaker. There are a lot of rules in the portuguese grammar, accents, a lot of ways to conjugate verbs ( ... ) But I think with classes and practice you will learn soon. It's difficult, not impossible .

I'm learning english, sorry if I wrote something wrong. ;)
