If you never meet the person you love, will you marry?

I did this and it was a disaster. I was 25 and wanted very much to be married. It ended in divorce. I tried a second time when I was 35. That marriage also ended. When I married the third time it was to someone I was sure I loved and was compatible with. We have now been married 18 years.

No. I am sure of that.

Nope.

Gave it a go at 27, we did not have any support and encouragment and it failed a year later, so it ended in divorce at 28.

Tried again at 46, moved to England, lived there a year, getting the house all set up, the fiance visa sorted, everything all systems go and 6 weeks before the wedding, he changed his mind and back to Brooklyn I was forced to return to.

So for me - never ever ever ever again.   I lost everything on earth due to that decision, my secure gov't job, my health insurance, leaving my elderly father behind alone ( and the guilt ), my entire bank account, all for nothing.

For me, it is better to marry the person that I am compatible with. I tend to mentality assessment rather than my feelings. I think this perspective is more practical to support our live in difficult conditions. Considering love is important but what if I don't meet the woman that I love, I will be single for a long time.
