Learning 2 languages in the same time??? So i see many peoples profile with them learning more then 1 language sometimes 3 or 4 and i wonder is it possible to learn two languages in the same time? Currently I am learning Japanese but i do want to learn Thai but i don't know if i should wait to be more comfortable and more knowledgeable with Japanese before hopping into another language. Honestly what do ya'll think? Is it possible? I'm asking because i honestly don't want to fry my brain i am a very eager learner when it comes to language learning but once again i'm scared i might confuse or even damage my Japanese learning. It would help if any one out there is currently 2 or more languages out there :) tell me how it's working out for you please or if someone tried it but backfired please share your experience.

I wouldn't recommend learning two languages at a time. In my opinion I think that you should learn as much as you can in the language that you are studying. The after that try moving on to something else. Learning two languages at the same time could potentially slow the learning process.

(Being English your mother tonge…)

It's a matter of time. Being unrelated languages, to master Japanese (~2200 hours) and Thai (~1100 hours) at a time may require about 3300 hours. That is too much, in my opinion.  Taking classes, 4 hours/day 5 days/week… Is still more than 3 years. Studying by your own, on free time, it will take toooo much.

If those languages were more near to English, it will not take so much time.
For example, Dutch and French can be achieved in 1200 hours.

Probably it is more of a mindset thing that  stops people of doing this more often as technically it's possible. Lack of time is also a major component.
