Learning a Language More or Less Independently

I'm interested in investigating the use of Italki for autonomous language learning. My questions to you are:
Do you consider yourself an active member of the Italki community? Why or why not?
Do you believe your knowledge of the language you chose to study has improved after you starting visiting Italki? Why or why not?
