It would be great to see some poems by non-native English speakers in their native languages with an English translation. Here are a couple of haiku I wrote:
Sky high eagle eyes
What do you see
Searching the canyons of my heart

Praying mantis green
Not in vain a wint'ry death
Babies in the spring

Excellent topic, Stan!
Here my humble contribution
"Companion"
You may have your own love,
But I surely have mine.
Whether yours is a he or a she,
Mine is certainly wine.
The best among the best,
The bliss among the blisses.
Why would I want love?
If wine is better than kisses?
Why would I ponder or wonder
If I can declare without further ado?
What if it can’t ever lover me?
I can love it and I do!
In gladness, a merry companion,
Involving my heart with cheer;
In melancholy, no better relief
Than a glass of wine and bitter tears.
Thanks for the kind words, Mumtaz!
I like your poem very much! It's funny and it remined me that iTalki used to be pink! I had totally forgotten about it!
