Emotional intelligence or/and intellectual intelligence? Which one is more important? Tell me your opinion. I have recently read a book about emotional intelligence and I realized how important it is.

In my opinion both are important however I feel that emotional intelligence will get you further in life ultimately. In your early school years and further on in university, intellectual intelligence may have been the main factor in success. In these places your grades determine how far you get and your level of achievement. However in the working world it changes. There is a saying, "It's not about what you know, it's about who you know". Whilst intellectual intelligence will get you far, it can only get you so far. One only has to look at some of the richest people in the world today to realise that these are not people who are necessarily intellectually advanced like the top engineers or scientists in the world. In most cases the people who are the most successful are the people who are emotionally intelligent. They know how to interact with people, how to influence them through the use of social media and marketing. Ultimately your success in life is driven by your interactions with other human beings who can help you to achieve your goals.

This is what I believe, although I don't have experimental data to sustain it,
that being the reason I can't say 'I know' (which would be quite a different answer).

The one you are more gifted in by Mother Nature will be the more important, unless
the person makes bad choices in their life, i.e. finding himself in contexts that
are not suitable to him most of the time and in important situations or relations.

I think both are important.

Which one is more important for a person he needs to choose and work on it. Emotional intelligence helps in interrelations when intellectual intelligence helps in a career. Everyone choose what is more important to him.
