It's weird cause my parents are a mixture of authoritarian and uninvolved. They were very harsh with me growing up- most especially my mom. I was physically and verbally abused by my mom growing up, I did not have the freedom to be myself when my mom was still around. My dad on the other hand, is uninvolved. Actually both of my parents are uninvolved in a sense that they never became interested in my activities/interests growing up. They were never supported my athletic career and they were never curious about my personality or my likes and dislikes, and whenever I would try to tell them my stories they would always respond, 'rap it up' so I would end up calling other people instead

To be a good parent is not an easy task since you must change frequently to guide your kids toward the right directions. However,  authority-oriented parenting would be very likely to cause your kids to keep away from you, which is not good for the long term relationship.

I think my parents practiced authoritarian parenting. They weren't very responsive at times and not affectionate at all. But I still love them!

Veery permissive. It was like living in a jungle. I'm a Tarzana :D

As a parent I think I would be also permissive, children should feel free, at least as a child they must feel that way
