Answers, Discussion, articles.....are they really all gone???

When I logged in to my account, my teacher wallet was not visible. So I contacted italki and they sent me the link to the new website 'teach.italki.com'. The site looked nice, but then I could not find the answer-, discussion- notebook section. Will they be gone forever? Very sad if that would be the case. The answer and notebook section was really helpful for learners and teachers.

At the moment it is still possible to use the old and new version at the same time. How long will that be possible?

I don't think it'll take long until they'll shut off the "classic" page and we'll all have to move to the new one. I don't think so that they'll get rid of the community completely. But I'm afraid, that at this point we have no way of knowing hat they'll do. The termination of the instant tutoring feature came quite as a surprise.

I was moderator of the italki FB group snd made a post there, asking what will happen to the community section. I also asked in the moderator group. No reply by italki, even though at least two employees are admins. So, I just left the FB group. It can't replace the community section here. I'll stick around on the "classic" site as long as it lasts but should they abolish the community section, I won't use the new site. There are other online teacher markets. The combination of the teacher market with the community features was what made italki so special. I still don't want to give up hope though that the community will not be destroyed.

Edited for ridiculous typos.

The italki FB group didn't have any meaningful impact on my language learning and it doesn't really matter if I'm there or not. I'm just a random member. Italki won't even take notice of my absence. If they decide to continue with the community on their new site I'll be participating. But I won't support any notions to move the community to FB.

I contacted italki, who are usually very quick in responding, but did not get any answer. Well, I guess we are in for more surprises.

I would have hoped to get some answers from the community, but nobody seems to have any clue what's going on.

I just can't believe that they would disable the answer and notebook function. These functions are so helpful for learners and teachers. I guess the discussion section caused them a lot of headache and I can understand their point of view (though I do not want to defend their move), but I guess you are right in assuming that they won't shut down all community functions.
