I really wanted to learn sign language for a long time now but as i finally went looking for a teacher i came to notice that there are no german signing-teachers here :/ so my question is: is it a clever idea to learn sign language in english instead? Is it based on something like an international grammer which i could just translate into german signs? ( I know that there are different accents and grammatical structures but maybe i could be understand nevertheles?) i would be greatful for any recomendations or ideas!

Here you can see the differences between American, British, Danish and German Sign Language: https://youtu.be/fpZ3qxTW3cE.
There is an International Sign Language but it's a Pidgin Language: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Sign.
I think it's best to learn the language that you also will use for communication. So, if you want ri connect with the German Deaf community it's better to learn German Sign Language.
