So I just looked at the discussion board and 18 out of the 20 posts are people looking for someone to practice their ENGLISH with. And honestly I love English but I swear for a moment I wanted to only speak in Japanese, just to spite:)
I know why English is in such high demand but this just really, really stood out and I got a puerile urge to rebel merely for the sake of it... Dear italki members, hate to burst your bubble but there are other languages besides English! Yes I'm not kidding! There are! And you can even create discussions in those other languages! Shocking, right?
Okay, this was a joke, please don't take it seriously and have a good morning/day/evening/night :)
(*Rants about how all the posts are about English but eventually writes this very post in English too... the irony huh*)
What would happen if 20 members posted the same discussion title on the same day, e.g., I am not looking for a language exchange partner?
I think I know what would happen.
The 20 discussions would be forced off the first page within 20 minutes by messages (not discussions) from people looking for language partners.
It's unfortunate because I empathize with those who want to learn or improve their English and may not be able to afford to pay a tutor or teacher.
How I wish that italki would help out with this problem.
谢谢!
