How Talking About The Past And Contrast With The Present [A2/B1
Welcome to my grammar pill for today!  

Sometimes we need to talk about situations, things or habits in the past and then contrast the same thing with the present. What kind of past form do we have to use in this context? So easy! Remember this rule:

Antes + pretimperfectoahora + pr<wbr>esente

Exactly! We use pretimperfecto to talk about the situation in the past and we use the present form to contrast with the new situation. 

Here are some examples
- Antes, iba al gimnasio 4 veces a la semana; ahora, voy al gimnasio 2 veces porque no tengo mucho tiempo. 
- Antes, escuchaba música en CD y ahora escucho música en Spotify
