help me understand "Women's representation in lower or single houses of parliament has increased".

I know what "lower houses of parliament" mean, but please tell me what does "single" mean here?!

Hello!

The term refers to a government with one legislative house or chamber (unicameral system). Thus, there is a single House Legislative system.
