If you need it for work, take it seriously then:) Chinese is not that kind of language that you can learn 10 mins a day by yourself and then just "oh I have spent 3 months learning Chinese, now I can read some simple stories" - it's never gonna happen (sorry). You should also consider the huge difference betweet Arabic and Chinese (grammar, phonetic, writing system after all).

And there is one more point. As long as you are asking for a advice, I think it can be useful as well. If you learn Chinese by yourself, there is always a possibility that you get something wrong (it's fair to say about anybody learning any language) - and it might be only a half of your troubles though. After you realize that "something doesn't match", you will find a teacher eventually, and that teacher will struggle trying to fix your Chinese (so will you).

Hi! It depends on your goal. If you want to learn it just for fun (to understand Chinese tv shows, translate somebody's tattoos, know the ingredients of your favorite spicy sauce...), starting with pinyin would be a good idea. But if you want to communicate with people, dig into the language, it's better to find a teacher who would guide you.
