DAICHI
Do you use umbrella when it starts raining? Yes, I do ,even if it is raining a little. And I've got a mini umbrella in my bag always during the rainy season. If you will come to Japan, you see almost all of Japanese use umbrella. Off course, it depends.

I heard there are differences from country to country.

How about you?

There is proverb from the town I am currently living in like this: "Entweder regnet es in Münster, oder es läuten die Glocken. Geschieht beides gleichzeitig, ist Sonntag.“ (It's either raining in Münster or one hears the bell ring. If there is both, then it's Sunday.) Out of 365 days in a year, we get rainy weather in roughly 300 of them. Also, we seldom got downpour. In most times it's drizzle. It's such a common scene for the city residents that none of us really cares about it any more. Most of us wear waterproof jackets. Therefore when it starts to rain, the only thing we need to do is to get hooded.

Quiz time: how to spot a tourist in my town? ;)

I would immediately bring out my umbrella when it starts to rain or even drizzle because I don't wanna get wet at all.

I've lost a huge number of umbrellas. I left them lying or hanging in supermarkets, buses, taxi, cafe, airports, etc.
So now when it starts raining I run quickly from tree to tree  :)

No, I never use an umbrella, but many people in America do.

Never used one. I just don't bother taking it with me. We don't actually have a lot of rain here. So I either use hood or do nothing.
But it's just my opinion. I don't get cold easily. But I also rarely see people use umbrellas. It's just not common. Only among elderly, maybe.
