Depends on what you define "spicy", well, I will guess that your reference is indian food as you mentioned. And yes, no, we don't do that here :D- Brazil has very very very few influences from indian culture, unlike Europe and the U.S (two places where I have lived) and where the presence of Indians and their culture and food are e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. I heard that in Britain it is even considered a "normal" daily british food. 
We actually like some type of spices, condiments or seasonings but it has to be something moderate. Curry is definitely not something here and would scare the hell out of many Brazilians who have never tasted it. We're happy with garlic, salt and some chillies in our daily cooking.  

But to be honest, I find the brazilian way of cooking much more spicy or let's say, with much more taste than most of European countries that I have been to and that I found the food to be totally bland. 

My image is that Brazilians are very happy, warm and bright people. I've never seen a sad Brazilian :P
