Support Miriam’s "How to italki - A beginner's guide" – Request to Permanently Post
Recently, Miriam, one of italki's primary contributing members has posted a Discussion entitled, "How to italki - A beginner's guide" @ https://www.italki.com/discussion/203952

Many members have up-voted this helpful guide for new italki members and many of us believe that italki should permanently post Miriam's guide somewhere on italki's website.

I suggest that those of us who support the posting of Miriam's guide contact italki Support and ask that they post the guide (and work with Miriam to edit and post the current or amended version of the guide).

Here is a standard/template message that we could send to italki support @ https://support.italki.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

"Please consider posting the 'new italki member guide' entitled, "How to italki - A beginner's guide" (see Discussion https://www.italki.com/discussion/203952) which has received significant support from italki members. We hereby request that italki contact the original poster member Miriam and discuss permanently posting the guide on the website. We believe that this information would be very helpful for all new italki members."

I have spoken with Miriam and asked if she would object to me posting this message and she said that she does not object to having us ask italki to post the guide.

I received the following message from italki Support regarding my suggestion to post Miriam's New italki Member Guide:

"I have reported your feedback and suggestion to our product team and community team, they will consider how to optimize this part base on your suggestion."

Thank you Val for your support.

I gave you an upvote, but someone downvoted everything in this discussion.

To the person who downvoted everything:
Thank you so much for your positive contribution to italki...
Now, why don't you go dig a hole then fill it up again...
that would be more positive and productive than downvoting

@Richard and Val

Thanks for supporting my discussion. It's unfortunate that not everyone thinks that a guide for newcomers is a good idea, but like always, it's best to not take downvotes personally and just ignore them.

Hi Richard

I did send the message as you said but I think majority of beginners will not use or see it unless italki makes its app or website more interactive than this. For example there should be regular exams for language learners in order to push them to stick to their lessens and be obliged to participate in discussions. Those who do not post valuable and educational discussion get down-voted or negative scores and vice versa. And those like you and Miriam who are working to improve the community get some kind of score or positive feedback.
