Should everyone in the world speak English? English is one of the world's most spoken languages and used everywhere. Should the world continue to learn it, or should we start learning some of the other major languages?

Hello Evan , thanks for this topic . To discuss this topic we should focus on some points to extract full answer.

Firstly from my view I think when someone decides to learn a new language should they ask their self what will be after I learn this language , I mean when a person wants to learn language there usually some causes , as for me I have been studying English , because my university requires me having English to join to them

. other people probably because to work on a jop or travel or living abroad .

Greetings

In my view, you have already given a good answer to this question. 'English is one of the world's most spoken languages and used everywhere. ' This is a certain reason for people learning English. General speaking, yes, I think we should continue to learn. Of course, it's not necessary for those who have no intention to speak to the world. And also for those who think is more profitable to learning other languages(I learned Japanese first). For me, absolutely I should work on my English harder. Thank you!

You have just written English is one of the world's most spoken language and used everywhere so  why we need to learn another language instead of English. :-)

I think everybody should learn as many languages as they can manage.

As for English in particular, one should learn the language if he is able to, as it is perhaps the most universal language and could hence prove useful in many situations.
