Today I found and reported another scammer. His comment on a discussion looked suspicious. Not what a native English speaker would have written. The profile picture showed an American soldier. I did a google picture search and it turned out to be a picture used by scammers.

You can always tell the out-of-country scammers by the language. It´s really easy. They use computer-generated speech to hide the accent, but the language is always ungrammatical, like „This is Social Security Administration calling with important massage. Please call us immediately.“ Like, where`s the „the“ in Social Security Administration and in message? You can`t leave out definite articles like that, or at least no native speaker would. The telltale sign of a non-native speaking scammer. 

In South Korea there are many scammers via phone or email. They are mostly ethnic Koreans from China (there are many ethnic Koreans from China in South Korea, therefore it is not unlikely to meet such people in everyday life) and claim to be staff from a bank and asking for bank account details. The most scary scam was a guy who apparently hacked into an email account. Then he wrote he pretended to be a friend of the email account holder, copied his style of writing and asked for money for treatment in a hospital. The email account holder sent the money. When the friend asked for more money, the email account holder got suspicious and sent a person to her friend (the friend lived in India and the email account holder in South Korea) and found out it was all a scam. This sounds unbelievable, but I know the email account holder in person.

Scammers are everywhere. I've got used to it.
