Hello there, this is dialogue from "Taxi Driver".

Personnel officer: Let me see your chauffeur's license. How's your driving record?

Travis: It's clean. It's real clean, like my conscience.

Personnel officer: You gonna break my chops? I got enough trouble with guys like you coming in here to break my chops. If you're gonna break my chops, you can take it on the arches. Understand?

Travis: Sorry, sir. I didn't mean that. 


Can you explain what this sentence means?

(If you're gonna break my chops, you can take it on the arches)

I've never heard people use these phrases before so I'm just guessing here:
'Chops' is an informal way to describe someone's jaw.
'Arches' refers to your feet (part of the foot anatomy).
So I read that sentence as 'If you're going to talk back/give me a hard time, you can leave immediately'.
